Cultivating Inclusive and Resilient Urban Food Systems

Ecological Sustainability in Cities

This FEED4FOOD webinar will explore how urban and peri-urban agriculture can support ecological sustainability, social inclusion, and stronger local food systems across European cities. The session will highlight innovative practices that contribute to greener, more resilient urban environments.

Community Participation & Local Food Systems

Partners and practitioners from several countries will present hands-on approaches that connect ecological sustainability with community wellbeing. Discussions will focus on inclusive participation, local urban agriculture initiatives, and the creation of stronger community-based food systems.

Biodiversity, Water & Native Seeds

Speakers will share experiences related to water harvesting, the role of native seeds in urban gardens, and biodiversity-friendly food production. The webinar will showcase how sustainable farming and gardening practices can help protect ecosystems while supporting healthy local food production.

Collaboration for Climate-Resilient Food Systems

The workshop will conclude with a panel discussion coordinated by VU Amsterdam, bringing together speakers and participants to reflect on how Living Labs, farmers, municipalities, and communities can collaborate to make urban food systems more inclusive, circular, and climate-resilient.
